Masterpieces

Getting kids to eat healthy food can be a bit challenging at times. I have one who has always eaten very well and one who would rather sit in a corner screaming than try everything on his plate. Sadly, my children (both of them) don't seem to understand that just tasting a new food will not kill them and that more often than not that new food will be palette pleasing. My little trick over the years has been to make "Masterpieces" as Q-Bear calls them. I fill a plate with food I know they love (pepperoni and candy) and mix in some foods they're not entirely thrilled about eating (cherries for one and sprouts for the other). In the end they end up with a plate loaded with good food, and usually a few pieces of candy, that is fun for them to eat. Picky eaters barely stand a chance against a Masterpiece!
